Lion and Cheetah Project
This Project takes place on a Lion and Cheetah breeding farm in South Africa. Everyone who comes on this Hands-on Holiday will have the opportunity of taking part in the raising of the cubs and may also have the opportunity of getting involved with the research that is happening in collaboration with the University of Pretoria, to try and isolate the gene that is responsible for the White Lion.
Although lions are not on the Endangered Species List - yet, it is a well known fact that the White Lion is virtually extinct in the wild. Many professionals predict that Lions could be on the List within the next 15 years. Cheetahs, on the other hand, are already on that list! That is why research is so vital to the ongoing existence of these” Kings of the wild”
